Builds muscles: Protects you from conditions like arthritis and back pain and helps prevent falls in elderly people.

Helps with your posture: Which might be a cause for fatigue and can also cause back, neck and other muscle and joint problems.

Increases blood flow: Yoga gets your blood flowing! The relaxation exercises you learn in yoga can help your circulation and also gets more oxygen to your cells which function better as a result. Good poses for this are inverted poses such as headstands, handstands and shoulder stands.

Happn – Creepy or not?

Well the day has finally come guys. To all those times you’ve crossed someone’s path and had that person caught up in your head wondering “WHY did I not say hi?” – Or to that person that you had a great conversation with but did not take their number or their name… the solution is now here.

The creators of the app ‘Happn’ thought to themselves, “why should we go on dating websites when we meet so many new people everyday, in real life?” Fabien Cohen, Didier Rappaport and Antony Cohen decided to create an app that gives you the power to find a person you’ve crossed paths with again, and to get in touch with them.

The app was created in Paris in 2014 and since then it has accumulated thousands of new people. The app let’s you sync your Facebook profile, letting you write a little caption, showing your current occupation and also shows you if you have any mutual Facebook friends. Kinda sounds like Tinder no? It also lets you “Like” or “X” that person… Hmm…

9d384958dc87d95f1b39f01b03024479

The app also shows you the exact location where you encountered that person. If you decide to “Like” someone you may then check out their profile at any time and see the last time you ran into each other… a little creepy I must say. The fun part, they won’t find out if you “Liked” them unless the interest is mutual!

If you wish to be noticed you can charm them and send them a notification. There is a catch though, for men, it costs 1 credit to charm a woman. Once you have a mutual interest with someone you can then start a conversation.

To those who don’t mind having someone know when they are close to you at all times and is fed up of Tinder, I would recommend this app, and hey, maybe this will help you with finding that long lost love at first sight!

Dreams Loves Draper James

“Going forward, real-time marketing is going to be the holy grail of marketing.”

Earlier this month, Reese Witherspoon proved that real-time marketing is what every business should be doing. Her Southern-inspired lifestyle company Draper James just raised 10 million dollars in just six months time.

With social media playing such a big role in companies’ marketing plans, Draper James showed that by creating a strategy on relevant trends and direct feedback from customers, you can accomplish so much more.

90116396116fe1a15b40401407e33c5f

“As an artist, often waiting months for feedback on a film, to be able to hear our customers’ feedback in real time has been amazing. I feel like that has helped us create products that is specific to what they want.” With just a static social media campaign businesses can never track the proper feedback they would need to grow. Real-time marketing helps businesses understand their customers, helps them know what works and what doesn’t and most importantly allows you to use your online followers, and not just collect them.

Now take five minutes out of your busy workday and check out Reese’s sweet as pie lifestyle brand.

5 Reasons Why We Love The Cold

As the weather starts to get colder and winter slowly settles, we are all bundling up and reminiscing back to the good old days when we wore our flip flops… a time that seems so far away now. Let’s be honest: the cold has many downsides. Instead of depressing ourselves, let’s take a different approach and look at all the positive sides of the winter that’s ahead. Yes, trust me, there are plenty!

#1: You get to bundle up in your warmest clothes

861c8ccd231799310d6d4d95a01a9fb1

All hail the comfy Christmas sweaters, stylish hats, and fun scarves! With all the layers we have to wear, our wardrobe opens up a myriad of possibilities. You can dress how you want, without having to worry about having the perfect body (layers can do wonders). You can also have fun with your style by accessorizing with scarves, hats, gloves, cardigans, stockings…the list goes on! And finally: shoes! Your options are even greater than during the summer: from high-heeled booties to comfortable snow boots, you have a whole range of shoes to choose from.

#2: You have no guilt in eating that entire bowl of pasta!

da2bd4227ad7eb3f58f06ac006727854

The cold weather justifies all of your food choices, so you can feel guilt free about downing that huge bowl of pasta: you need to load up on carbs right?
Also, there are plenty of delicious winter recipes to try out: chili, mac n’ cheese, butternut squash soup, and pumpkin pie bread pudding are just a few ideas. In fact, since you’re more likely to be inside, you’ll have more time to test out the recipes (and consequently stay by the hot oven to warm yourself up).

#3: You understand the real meaning of hugs

e49cef6a5c67fc719cfec04d7f58f88f

It’s to keep you warm of course! There’s nothing better than hugging your friend or your loved one and taking advantage of all that extra body heat. It’s also a great excuse to stay close to people! Group hug anyone?

#4: Your creativity is stimulated

b5fe6e8a7077b445e70c5b61748f94bb

For those of us who don’t have the option to tan all year long by the beach, we have to get creative with how to spend our time. And winter offers all sorts of options, whether it’s outdoors (Snowball fights! Sledding! Salt water taffy!) or indoors (Reading by the fireplace! Having a cozy movie night! Or even Hosting a good old-fashioned dinner with friends!). Honestly, winter makes everything cozier and more intimate, and that is something we can all appreciate.

And finally #5: You truly know how to enjoy summer when it comes

455f4013724210c52f4257a88c16e45d

Going through Montreal winter makes you that much more appreciative when summer comes around. After months of being bundled up, Montrealers know how to make the most of summer and they know the TRUE meaning of “It’s summertime!”

So don’t let yourself be depressed with the winter blues, instead focus on all the wonderful winter moments!

Dreams Loves Gigi

Hey Dreamers!

Our #WCW this week goes out to a girl who knows how to kick ass and isn’t afraid to break down some of the destructive stereotypes around body image. The one and only Gigi Hadid! Gigi’s modeling career started at a very young age when her mother, Yolanda Foster, an ex Real Housewife, got her signed with Guess Kids. You have to know you’re a pretty good-looking kid if you get signed with one of the biggest companies in the world while you’re still wearing diapers!

From that ad campaign onward, Gigi has grown to be one of the most wanted models in the world. In this year’s fashion month, she strutted her way down some of the most renowned designers in the fashion industry from Michael Kors to Balmain. But it isn’t just her looks that are getting her this far; it is her values and her passion about breaking boundaries that is grabbing everyone’s attention.

2g

Gigi isn’t necessarily your “average” super model for the reasons that she is not “super thin” however; she isn’t letting that stereotype step foot in her way of being proud to work in this industry. Gigi was recently body shamed by people on social media about the way she looks compared to the other models and her response is kick-ass.

Last week, Gigi posted a very motivating response on Instagram to all the negativity she had been receiving about her body image. “No, I don’t have the same body type as the other models in the shows,” Hadid wrote on her account. “I represent a body image that wasn’t accepted in high-fashion before. Yes, I have abs, I have a butt, I have thighs, but I’m not asking for special treatment,”

533f52b4e1fe8467934b50c11d18775f

She isn’t afraid of creating new norms for body image. She is a beautiful girl and is using her celebrity influence to break the barrier of stereotypes and encourage women to feel beautiful in the skin they are in!

“I’ve said it before… I hope everyone gets to a place in their life where they rather talk about the things that inspire them over the things that bring others down”

Dreams Loves PK Subban

A pretty amazing commercial for Boston Pizza Canada got released recently and the star? No other than Montreal’s PK Subban. In this commercial the hockey star/philanthropist delivers a pizza to Quebec guy and slap shots the pizza box inside his home.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=30&v=U_Z6elOm1_k

PK Subban has been seen on quite a few commercials and TV appearances lately, whether it’s for sports or endorsements, it’s always a pleasure to get a bit of PK on tv! Not only does he have great humour, but apparently the biggest heart for philanthropy with his recent donation of 10 Million dollars to the Montreal’s Children’s hospital. His donation was said to be the biggest philanthropic commitment by a sports figure in Canadian history.

CPCBY4WWsAAbG9E

He doesn’t stop there – the defence man for the Montreal Canadiens stated that the amount is only a minimum of what he will be donating. He also committed to raise funds for the hospital for seven years as a spokesman.

As a thank you from the Montreal’s Children’s Hospital, they have named their three-storey atrium in honour of Subban.

The partnership will also include a fund dedicated to assisting families financially hurt by a child’s illness. “Helping Hand”. This will be dedicated to making sure that parent’s will not have to worry about paying medical bills or food or medicine… and they will be able to focus on making sure their child gets better.

So on that note, THANK YOU PK SUBBAN from the Dreams MKTG team for being a constant inspiration.

That First Sip of Coffee

Happiness is not easily definable. Is it a feeling we get when life is going well, a state of mind, or some sort of physical wellbeing? I don’t know the exact definition of happiness (and this is not meant to be a philosophical blog thankfully), but I do believe that happiness comes in the smallest ways. Random, tiny bits of your day, like that first sip of coffee in the morning, are moments that bring a smile to my face. And if you have tons of these small moments everyday, then isn’t life a little brighter?

Back to my example of that first sip of coffee… Often, I cross people on the train or on the sidewalk, multitasking with their portable mug and phone, walking at a fast pace, barely paying attention to their surroundings. I wonder, what if they actually took the time to sit down in the morning to enjoy their cup of coffee? It might mean waking up a little earlier (not achievable for everyone, understandably), but just taking five minutes to sit down before starting your day is worth it. So use whatever fancy machine you have and make yourself America’s favorite brew. Pour that cup of java in a real mug. Now this step is VERY important, because the mug is part of the coffee experience (and anyways, who prefers an old plastic cup over a homie mug?). Any kind of mug – could be the one your grandma gave you, one that makes you smile because you’ve had it since you first started drinking this liquid heaven, or one you just find pretty. As long as you like it, it works.

other

And now for that aha moment: Smell the strong aromas of your brew. Just one breath to fill your lungs with that luscious smell of coffee is already relaxing. Then sit down: whether it’s on your cozy couch, on your outdoor porch or just in a random chair, sit somewhere where you’re comfortable. It’s the start of your day so better make it count! Take that first sip of coffee. Pause. You just took the time to make coffee and actually enjoy it. Smile at that thought. Look at the clock and realize you still have plenty of time to get ready and begin your day. It only took five extra minutes, but you are seated comfortably and savouring coffee. Not too bad eh? Today is bound to be a good day.

I don’t know if the “first sip of coffee” experience is everyone’s cup of tea (pun intended), but I’m sure everyone can find tiny moments in a day that bring them bursts of happiness. Because honestly, you don’t have to do much to make your day just a little brighter.
