There are many different reasons to start a yoga practice. Whether you’re in a slump or you’re looking for something new… you’re trying to get into shape or you simply want to practice mindfulness. What’s great about Yoga is all it’s different benefits. It is known for increasing your blood flow, getting you flexible but best of all, keeping you grounded.

The yoga community is constantly growing. Within the last few years the amount of studios per city have grown tremendously. If you are looking for a studio and want to kick-start your practice, here are some motivational benefits to get you on the mat.

Improves your flexibility: If you stick with your practice you will notice gradual loosening and eventually poses that might of seemed impossible will become possible.

Builds muscles: Protects you from conditions like arthritis and back pain and helps prevent falls in elderly people.

Helps with your posture: Which might be a cause for fatigue and can also cause back, neck and other muscle and joint problems.

Increases blood flow: Yoga gets your blood flowing! The relaxation exercises you learn in yoga can help your circulation and also gets more oxygen to your cells which function better as a result. Good poses for this are inverted poses such as headstands, handstands and shoulder stands.

Makes you happier: Feeling in a slump? Yoga is the perfect remedy. It has been found that a consistent yoga practice can improve depression and leads to a significant increase in serotonin levels and decreases the levels of monoamine.
